The search for sailors from the sunken boats “Slov’yansk” and “Stanislav” has been going on for the third year
Their families have been searching for the crew members of the sunken Ukrainian boats “Slov’yansk” and “Stanislav” for the third year.
Families have been searching for 16 sailors from two sunken military boats for the third year, Ukrinform reports.
The relatives have not yet managed to find out about the official whereabouts of the sailors, despite appeals to international organizations, in particular – to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Currently, only foreign partners can influence the situation. They can facilitate access to sunken ships in order to discover the bodies of Ukrainian sailors on them.
Today, the biggest problem in the issue of ship inspections is security, said Olesya Aulina, the head of the NGO “United by the Sea”, the wife of the missing commander of the patrol boat “Slovyansk” Damir Aulina.
A search mission can be created within the framework of several international initiatives – NATO’s tripartite agreement on demining the Black Sea and the Maritime Coalition led by Great Britain and Norway.
