Thousands of dolphins died in the Black Sea because of Russian ships
Significant losses in ecosystems are also observed on the territory of the Russian-captured Kinburn spit and the “Askania-Nova” reserve.
As a result of Russia’s actions, thousands of dolphins died in the Black Sea. This was stated by the spokesman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, in the “Edyni Novyny” telethon.
“There are quite serious numbers of deaths of animals, especially dolphins – there was a cosmic number, which was measured in thousands,” said Pletenchuk.
The use of military sonar is especially harmful for dolphins. As a result of radiation from navigation devices, mammals stop receiving echo signals, which leads to their death.
At the same time, the aggressor country destroys the ecosystem not only of the Black Sea, but also of the Kinburn Spit. Also, the occupiers almost destroyed the “Askania-Nova” nature reserve in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.
“We are only at the beginning of this journey, it will be necessary to determine the damage caused by the Russian Federation not only to Ukraine, but also to all other countries whose territories are washed by the Black Sea,” the spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Russian Armed Forces emphasized.
Recently, the Russians caused large-scale pollution of the Seim River in Kursk Region. The pollution immediately spread throughout the water area of the Seim River within the Sumy Region and reached Chernihiv Region. As a result of pollution, fish die en masse.
