A baby dolphin washed up on the coast of Odesa region: it died as a result of the actions of the Russian fleet
A baby dolphin washed up on the coast of the “Tuzlovski lymany” national park in Odesa region.
During the last few days, the sea carried a baby white-sided dolphin to the coast of the national park, said Ivan Rusev, Doctor of Biological Sciences.
Not far from the national park, in Hrybivka, a bottlenose dolphin washed ashore. Also, dolphins were taken to the coast of the Black Sea in Bulgaria and on the shores of Azov.
The health of animals is affected by powerful waves created as a result of the use of sonar or sonars operating on some Russian vessels near Novorossiysk and the occupied Crimea. Dolphins fall into the radiation zone of ships’ navigation devices – this disables their navigation and echolocation organs, they receive a powerful acoustic injury.
When the organs of navigation and hearing are damaged, dolphins become virtually “blind”. Because of this, mammals run into all kinds of obstacles, including mines, crash against rocks. In addition, injured animals cannot catch fish and quickly become exhausted.
Previously, the USM reported that dolphins continue to die due to the activity of enemy submarines and ships near the coast of Crimea.
