Metinvest mobilized 9,000 employees, Ryzhenkov

In Ukraine, 9,000 employees of the mining and metallurgical company Metinvest were mobilized, CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov said.

The main challenge for industrial enterprises of Ukraine is the shortage of personnel, CEO of Metinvest Yuriy Ryzhenkov told Forbes in an interview.

Factories are faced with a situation where they cannot increase production due to a lack of workers.

Ryzhenkov clarified that since the beginning of the war, 9,000 employees of “Metinvest” were mobilized – that is 16% of the staff. According to Ryzhenkov, “it is much easier to mobilize men in a large transparent enterprise”, so a transparent business must figure out how to solve this problem.

Ryzhenkov also said that the reservation of 50% of employees did not improve the situation with their deficit.

It usually takes 2-3 years to train a specialist, so the company simply does not have time to train new personnel.

The Cabinet of Ministers recently simplified the reservation procedure for carriers.

USM previously reported that the business had discussed the concept of an economic booking model. Such a model will make it possible to transfer the mobilization burden to the shadow part of the economy.

The Ukrainian Grain Association also appealed to the government to approve the economic reservation. The Association emphasized that the work of agro-industrial enterprises is impossible without the availability of qualified personnel with a narrow specialty.

It will be recalled that in May it became known that the agricultural holding “Nibulon” cannot retain all the required employees due to the imperfection of the current reservation format. In “Nibulon” they called to change the booking format, because the option with 50% no longer works.

Also, the Minister of Agricultural Policy, Taras Vysotsky, said that workers in the agricultural sector will be reserved for a year.
