The court gave permission for a special investigation into the People’s Deputy organizer of the scheme at the Odesa Port Plant
The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court granted permission for a special investigation into the ex-Deputy organizer of the abuse scheme at the Odesa Port Plant.
On September 18, the Appeals Chamber supported the position of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office prosecutor and granted permission to conduct a special pre-trial investigation, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
It is about the investigation of the people’s deputy of the 8th convocation, whom the investigation considers the organizer of a criminal scheme, the implementation of which during the sale of mineral fertilizers caused losses to JSC “Odesa Port Plant” (99.57% owned by the state) in the amount of UAH 93.3 million.
The appellate court upheld the appeal of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office prosecutor and annulled the decision of the investigative judge of the State Security Service of Ukraine dated February 23, 2024, which refused to grant the request for a special investigation.
This decision will make it possible to complete the pre-trial investigation of the suspect and refer the case to the High Anti-Corruption Court for consideration of the merits.
We will remind, within the framework of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that in March-December 2015, the People’s Deputy, together with a trusted person, organized a scheme according to which Odesa Port Plant sold mineral fertilizers to a predetermined company at prices lower than market prices.
According to the signed agreements, the private company allegedly resold the company’s products at market prices to foreign companies from the real sector of the economy, although in fact the products were delivered directly by Odesa Port Plant.
Previously, USM reported that JSC “Odesa Port Plant” has chosen the winner of the gas supply tender for UAH 4 billion.
