A farmer in Poland will be tried for calling on Putin to “deal with Ukraine”

In Poland, a local farmer and his daughter will be tried, who during the protests called on Putin to continue military aggression against Ukraine.

The law enforcement officers submitted the case against the farmer Petr G. and his daughter Agatha G. to the court, reports TVN24.

During the protests of Polish farmers, a father and daughter unfurled a USSR flag and a banner calling on Russian President Vladimir Putin to “deal with Ukraine” on a tractor. Literally on the poster was the following text: “Putin will deal with Ukraine and Brussels and our government.”

The incident occurred during protests in February in the city of Gozhichi, where the defendants participated in a farmers’ demonstration. The prosecutor’s office accused them of publicly promoting communist ideology and using its symbols. At first, the suspects pleaded not guilty, claiming that their actions were aimed at drawing attention to problems in agriculture. However, they later pleaded guilty and submitted a request for voluntary consent to punishment.

According to Polish law, calls for a war of aggression or glorification of it can be punished by imprisonment for up to 5 years, and propaganda of communist or other totalitarian ideologies – up to 3 years in prison.
