Environmentalists talked about the consequences of the Russian attack on the port infrastructure of Odesa

As a result of the Russian attack on the port infrastructure of Odesa, almost 16 tons of carbon dioxide entered the atmosphere.

This is reported by the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District.

Thus, on October 20, 2024, as a result of enemy shelling of the Odesa port infrastructure, a fire broke out that covered 200 square meters.

As a result, almost 16 tons of carbon dioxide, one of the main factors of climate change, entered the atmosphere.

The department noted that this information has already been forwarded to the Operational Headquarters of the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine for inclusion in the unified register of damage caused to the environment as a result of armed aggression.

As previously reported by USM, Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports in October caused losses of $30-40 million.
