The ports of Olvia and Kherson are preparing for the restart of concession projects, — Ministry for Communities and Territories Development

The Ukrainian ports of Olbia and Kherson are preparing for a new stage of development thanks to cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Ukraine continues active cooperation with international partners aimed at attracting investments in transport infrastructure, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development Timur Tkachenko розповів said.

During the meeting with the representatives of the IFC, urgent issues of investment development in ports, fleet modernization and attraction of private capital were discussed.

An important area of cooperation is the updating of concession project implementation schedules, which will allow determining the optimal terms for announcing tenders.

As part of this work, Ukraine is actively preparing for the restart of projects in the ports of Olbia and Kherson. This is critically important for the country’s economy, especially in conditions of limited access to deep-sea ports.

The government is also working on strengthening the position of Ukrainian Danube Shipping PJSC, which is important for supporting the Danube transportation market and stable grain exports.

USM previously reported that the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine has started preparing the port of Chornomorsk for the concession.
