Antimonopoly Committee approves merger of Bunge and Viterra

The Antimonopoly Committee has granted a concentration permit for the American grain trader Bunge.

This is stated in the message of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine noted that a concentration permit has been granted in the form of Bunge Global SA acquiring control over Viterra Limited.

Recall that Bunge recently announced a possible postponement of the completion of the deal to acquire Viterra for $8 billion to early 2025.

The deal has already received preliminary approval from the EU, but is still awaiting approval in Canada and China.

As previously reported by USM, Bunge and Viterra signed a merger agreement in June 2023, and Bunge shareholders approved it in October. The value of the newly created agricultural giant will be about $34 billion after the final completion of the merger process.
