The Cabinet of Ministers will allocate funds for repairs at the Odesa port

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated 50 million euros of budget support from the European Union for the repair and improvement of port infrastructure.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

As part of this assistance, funds will be allocated to ensure the functioning and development of seaports, overhaul of the overpass of the State Enterprise “Odesa Port”, the arrangement of port infrastructure facilities and its protection.

“This is a significant contribution to the sustainable functioning of Ukrainian ports, which, despite military challenges, continue their work and increase the tonnage of cargo turnover. Thanks to this, we remain a reliable partner and food guarantor for many countries of the world, even in such a difficult time for us,” noted Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Timur Tkachenko.

The ministry recalled that since the beginning of 2024, the volume of cargo processed by seaports of Ukraine amounted to 91.1 million tons, of which 89.9 million tons were transshipped in the period from January to November.

Earlier, the UDS appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers due to the increase in Ukrzaliznytsia’s fare.
