Russia has begun to withdraw its military equipment from the port of Tartus

Satellite images have confirmed that Russia continues to remove its military equipment from the Syrian port of Tartus.

This was reported by the Russian service of the American Radio Liberty.

These are the first similar high-resolution satellite images of the port of Tartus, taken after the start of loading Russian military equipment brought from all over Syria onto the cargo ships Sparta and Sparta II of the Oboronlogistika company of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Judging by the comparison of photos from January 18 and 27, Sparta II has already left the port, and with it a significant part of the equipment has disappeared from the berth.

The Sparta vessel remains in the port, the platform closest to it, which was almost empty on January 18, is now filled with containers.

Earlier it became known that the Syrian government terminated the 49-year agreement with Russia regarding the port of Tartus.
