In the Odesa region, a bridge connecting ports is being repaired

On the T-16-07 Izmail – Kiliya – Vylkove highway, work is underway to repair the bridge over the Kofa Canal.

The bridge over the Kofa Canal connects the Izmail and Kiliya ports, reports the Odesa Region Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service.

The bridge structure with a railing has already been installed, and asphalting of the bridge structure has been completed.

“Work is ongoing on the approaches to the bridge and on the bridge structure itself (filling the embankment and cones near the supports, installing separators, installing spillway structures),” the report says.

The emergency section of the T-16-07 road has also been restored.

Thanks to the repair of the bridge and the T-16-07 highway at the approach to the bridge, the throughput capacity will increase and the movement of civilian cars, ambulances, school buses, emergency services, and heavy-duty vehicles carrying goods of economic importance will be significantly accelerated.

Recall that the bridge was built in the 1960s. In 2021, due to its emergency condition, it was closed to all types of vehicles.
