Kazakhstan begins exporting mineral fertilizers bypassing Russia

Kazakhstan has exported mineral fertilizers of ammophos for the first time via the Trans-Caspian international transport route, bypassing Russia.

This was reported by Business Censor with reference to the KazTransOil company.

3 thousand tons of Kazakh ammophos were shipped from the Batumi seaport, which is managed by the subsidiary of KazTransOil – Batumi Oil Terminal LLC.

These mineral fertilizers are being exported from the port of Batumi via the Trans-Caspian international transport route for the first time.

The Trans-Caspian international transport route runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and then to Turkey and European countries.

The fertilizers were transported from Kazakhstan to Batumi in Georgia via multimodal transportation via the Caspian Sea.

In total, this year the Batumi port plans to handle 50 thousand tons of Kazakh ammophos.

Also in 2024, the port provided the first deliveries to world markets of 37.6 thousand tons of Kazakh ammonium nitrate via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

Earlier, USM reported that Kazakhstan will reduce oil transit through Russia by 80%.
