Repair work continues on the bridge connecting two ports in the Odesa region

In the Izmail district, repair work is underway on the bridge that connects the Izmail and Kiliya ports.

The Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Odesa region reported on the progress of the repair work.

“On ​​the bridge structure located on the T-16-07 Izmail – Kiliya – Vylkove highway, the bridge structure with a railing has already been installed, the installation of separators has been completed. The installation of the lower layer of coarse-grained asphalt concrete has also been completed,” the report says.

The installation of the lower layer of asphalt concrete pavement on the ramps has begun. The installation of spillway structures, edge trays, reinforcement of slopes, and the installation of gabion mattresses continues. At the final stage of the work, painting of the bridge is planned.

The department emphasized that due to the repair of the bridge and the T-16-07 highway at the approach to the bridge, the throughput capacity will increase and movement will be significantly accelerated, in particular, of heavy-duty vehicles carrying goods of economic importance.

We remind you that the bridge was built in the 1960s, but in 2021, due to its emergency condition, it was closed to all types of vehicles.
