Concession in the port of Chornomorsk: feasibility study for container terminal already agreed

Preparations for the concession competition are currently underway.

This was announced during a meeting with a delegation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Ministry of Development  reports.

As part of the cooperation, the preparation of concession projects for the port of Chornomorsk was discussed. The feasibility study for the port’s container terminal has passed the internal approval procedure.

“Preparations for the concession competition are ongoing, a competition commission is being formed. We look forward to holding a conference for potential investors in this project, which is scheduled for April 24, 2025 in Warsaw,” the ministry noted.

During the meeting, First Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories Alyona Shkrum spoke about the main areas in which the ministry wants to continue cooperation with the IFC, and the status of the relevant projects. In particular, the Black Sea Ports concession was discussed.

We would remind that the Ministry of Development, in cooperation with the IFC and the EBRD, is preparing two concession projects in the port of Chornomorsk. The concession project for the first and container terminals in the port of Chornomorsk is already in the preparation stage for the competition.

In February of this year, a feasibility study (FE) for the concession project for the port’s ferry terminal was presented.
