Lawyers helped stop the imposition of towing services by the state stevedore

In Ukraine, lawyers helped a shipowner defend his right to independently choose a towing operator in one of the ports.

As reported by the Interlegal law firm, they were approached by a shipowner who was faced with the imposition of towing services by the state stevedore in one of the ports.

Despite the fact that the client had his own tugboat, they tried to impose additional tugboats on him, despite the economic and technological unfoundedness.

The lawyers held negotiations with the stevedore, who explained the client’s legal position, and also achieved the cessation of the imposition of towing services.

The client was given the opportunity to independently choose towing operators in accordance with his needs.

USM previously reported that Ukrainian lawyers helped the client minimize losses from the shelling of the vessel by the Houthis.
