Since the beginning of the year, the Chornomorsk International Port has processed 1.3 million cargoes

Almost two-thirds of the cargo handled by the state-owned enterprise this year is grain.

This was stated by Vyacheslav Bezruk, director of the State Enterprise “International Trade Port “Chornomorsk” in an interview with Ukrinform.

Thus, in the first four months of 2025, out of a total of 1.3 million tons of cargo handled, 826.2 thousand tons were grain, which is almost 64% of the total volume of transshipment.

According to Bezruk, due to the seasonal decline and general slowdown in cargo flows in the region, some areas of the port’s activity have to be reoriented.

“We focused on what is critically important for the economy of Ukraine, namely: ensuring stable food exports. The basis of cargo flow here is traditionally grain – a strategically important commodity not only for our state, but also for the world market,” the official noted.

Bezruk added that the company will continue to focus on the development of bulk cargo transshipment, and increasing capacity in this segment, in his opinion, is not only strategically important, but also vital.

Earlier it also became known that the concession of terminals in the port of Chornomorsk is currently in the final stage of preparation.
