Grain exporter in Odesa region reimbursed UAH 119 million in unpaid taxes — Economic Security Bureau

A company that exported wheat and soybeans to Egypt and Turkey hid hundreds of millions of hryvnias in income.
The Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) reported reported the completion of a pre-trial investigation into tax evasion by a large exporter of agricultural products in the Odesa region.
According to the investigation, in 2024, company officials did not declare income from the sale of 16 thousand tons of wheat and 40 thousand tons of soybeans with a total value of about 660 million UAH. The products were exported by sea to Egypt and Turkey.
According to Serhiy Muntyan, head of the Economic Security Bureau Export and Import Unit in the Odesa region, the actual volumes of products sold and income significantly exceeded the figures in the financial statements. As a result, the state did not receive about 119 million UAH in taxes.
The company officials were informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion in especially large amounts). During the investigation, the company fully compensated for the losses, and the criminal proceedings have already been transferred to court with an indictment.
