Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured Trump that he would stop buying Russian oil. Ukrinform reports this with reference to the US president.
“I didn’t like India buying oil, and he assured me today that they won’t do it again,” Trump said.
According to the US president, such a step will help limit Moscow’s revenues, which “allow Russia to continue a senseless war that has already cost them one and a half million lives.” Trump called this a “significant achievement” and added that he now plans to convince China to take similar measures.
The head of the White House also expressed the opinion that resolving Russia’s war against Ukraine “may be easier” than the recent US diplomatic breakthroughs in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, as USM reported the day before, the sanctioned Arctic LNG-2 is preparing to send its 10th gas carrier.
