The invaders are preparing to transfer the port of Mariupol to the de facto administration of Rostov

The occupation administration of the so-called “DPR” is preparing another step towards the complete economic subordination of the region.

This was reported by the Center of National Resistance.

The head of the pseudo-republic, Denis Pushilin, stated that in 2026 it will head the “Donbass” Commonwealth — a union of the “DPR”, the “LPR” and the Russian Rostov and Voronezh regions.

Formally, it is about “development of cooperation” and “optimization of logistics,” but Pushilin places the key emphasis on the Mariupol port. According to him, in the near future, they plan to “coordinate” the port’s work with the transport hubs of the Rostov region with “correct distribution of cargo flow.”

The analysts of the Central Resistance Center emphasized that behind these formulations lies the actual confiscation of strategic infrastructure and its transfer under external Russian control. The port of Mariupol, which in peacetime was one of the largest economic centers in the region, is being transformed into a transit corridor for Russian interests — without the participation and consent of local communities.

According to the Central Intelligence Agency sources, back in August, the occupation structures held closed meetings to discuss the full integration of the port of Mariupol into the logistics schemes of Rostov. This involves the direct subordination of management decisions to Russian transport operators and the redirection of all revenue streams outside the borders of Donbas. Local personnel will be left with only technical functions, and control over financial and strategic decisions will pass to the Kremlin.

The port is already used today to export metal, grain, and other strategic resources from Donbas. No program for the restoration and investment in the region is envisaged. Donbas enterprises are prohibited from independently managing cargo, jobs are being reduced, and any prospects for economic growth are being deliberately blocked.

The port of Mariupol is one of the key elements of the scheme for the centralized selection of regional resources and the final economic absorption of Donbas.

Earlier, USM reported that the Russian Federation is equipping a “customs office” in the occupied port of Mariupol.
