The International Maritime Organization called for not attacking ships in the Black Sea

The Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Dominguez, has called for the non-attack of civilian vessels in the Black Sea.

The corresponding statement was published on the IMO website.

Arsenio Dominguez called on all parties to “refrain from attacks on innocent seafarers, port workers and merchant vessels.”

“Shipping should not be used as a pawn in geopolitical situations, and there is an increased environmental risk. I remain ready to support any negotiating efforts to allow international maritime trade to continue for the benefit of all,” he stressed.

Earlier, USM reported that Ankara expressed “grave concern” about the situation in the Black Sea and stated that attacks on commercial vessels were unacceptable.
