Ukraine and Portugal signed a partnership in the production of maritime drones

The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Portugal signed a joint statement on establishing a partnership for the production of marine drones.

This was reported on the website of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Volodymyr Zelensky and Luiz Montenegro signed a Joint Statement on the launch of a partnership for the production of marine unmanned systems between Ukraine and Portugal.

The President stressed that Ukraine is interested in Portugal’s involvement in the reconstruction of Ukraine. After all, Russian strikes continue, and due to Russian attacks on port infrastructure, logistics and energy, the most difficult situation is currently in the Odesa region.

“Russia is again trying to limit the sea for Ukraine, block our coastal regions. We will counteract this, and we will be grateful to all partners for their support, for their assistance in this too — Ukrainian port infrastructure, our logistics, our energy, our coastal cities,” Zelenskyy noted.

He added that drones are currently one of the most promising areas in defense work.

“It is important that there are results. And in all parts of our Europe there must be enough strength to counter any threats, and modern drones are a real tool of protection,” the president said.

Portugal also supported a joint European decision on a financial security guarantee for Ukraine for the coming years — this is 90 billion euros.

Earlier, USM reported that Russian tankers are changing routes due to fear of new drone strikes.
