Ukrzaliznytsia exported over 2 million tons of grain in January


Over the 27 days of January, 2 million 201 thousand tons of grain cargo were transported by rail in export traffic.

The figure is 19% higher than the corresponding period in December, it was reported during an online meeting of representatives of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia with agricultural market participants on January 29, RAIL.insider writes.

Over the 27 days of January, the average daily load on the railway network was 80.4 thousand tons. This is 9.4% more than in December last year.

“The total volume of grain transportation by rail in January was 2 million 442 thousand tons. The figure is 19% higher than in December. At the same time, compared to the same period last year, it decreased by 15%,” it was reported during the meeting.

As previously reported by USM, last year the railway transported almost 29 million tons of grain. In the 12 months of 2025, the volume of grain cargo transported by rail amounted to 28.856 million tons, of which more than 24 million tons were exported.
