EBRD and IFC assist in Chornomorsk port terminal concession project

EBRD and IFC support the launch of the concession tender for the Chornomorsk Port Container Terminal.

The institution supports the launch of an open and competitive concession tender for the Chornomorsk Port Container Terminal, the EBRD in Ukraine reports.

Together with IFC – International Finance Corporation, the EBRD is supporting the government in preparing a transparent international tender that meets the highest global standards.

“The concession tender aims to attract a strategic partner capable of providing investment, technological development and increasing the port’s capacity. The modernized terminal will play a key role in restoring maritime logistics, supporting economic recovery and long-term growth in Ukraine,” the report says.

It should be noted that the EBRD’s Head of Public-Private Partnerships, Marcos Martinez, presented the Bank’s approach during a special session of the European Commission in Brussels, organized by DG ENEST in cooperation with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine. The event brought together representatives of EU institutions, IFC and industry companies and confirmed the strategic opportunities opened up by the concession of the container terminal in Chornomorsk.

We will remind, at the end of January, a public-private partnership project in the port of Chornomorsk was presented in Brussels.
