Russian shipyards continue to use foreign equipment, — Defense Intelligence

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense has published a list of foreign equipment used by Russian shipbuilding and ship repair plants.

The data was published on the website of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine War&Sanctions in the “Tools of War” section.

The list, which includes 50 units of foreign equipment used by Russian shipbuilding and ship repair plants, includes machine tools and machining centers with numerical program control, robotic production lines and other foreign-made equipment used at key enterprises in the industry, including:

• JSC “Kronshtadtsky Morskoy Zavod”, which carries out repairs and service of vessels of the Russian Navy;

• JSC “Sevmash”, which builds nuclear submarines;

• JSC “Baltiysky Zavod” – a manufacturer of nuclear icebreakers and warships.

In particular, among the equipment used by the Russian Federation, there are machine tools from Italy, Germany, the USA, Taiwan, etc.

“Although the Ukrainian Defense Forces forced the enemy’s Black Sea Fleet to hide in ports and remote coastal areas, limiting its shipbuilding industry is a guarantee of depriving the Russian Federation of the means for aggression in other regions of the world, in particular in the Baltic Sea,” the GUR noted.

In particular, the intelligence emphasized that limiting access to foreign equipment, components, technical fluids and software is a necessary condition for reducing the aggressor’s potential to restore and develop naval forces.

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine called on partners to strengthen control over compliance with sanctions restrictions, prevent circumvention of sanctions and apply effective mechanisms of responsibility for companies and suppliers involved in providing the Russian military-industrial complex.
