US Treasury lifts sanctions against three Russian vessels: one of them was involved in grain theft

The US Treasury Department has removed three civilian vessels flying the Russian flag from the sanctions lists.
This is stated in the updated list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department.
These are two container ships Fesco Moneron, Fesco Magadan and the dry cargo ship SV Nikolay.
Fesco Moneron and Fesco Magadan were sanctioned on February 22, 2022 due to their connection with the sanctioned company PSB Leasing. The vessel SV Nikolay was added to the list of restrictions on April 6 of the same year due to its connection with the sanctioned Alfa-Leasing.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, SV Nikolay participated in the illegal export of Ukrainian grain from the occupied territories.
The reasons for the lifting of sanctions in the US are not disclosed.
Recall that before this, the US had only eased sanctions for the oil industry. Thus, on March 13, the US Treasury Department allowed the export of oil and petroleum products already loaded onto ships for 30 days.
