Japan will help restore Ukrainian ports damaged by Russian attacks

Japanese partners are ready to provide practical assistance to individual Ukrainian ports this summer.
Individual Ukrainian ports may receive assistance from Japan this summer. This was announced by the president of the Ukrport association Dmytro Barinov during the III international conference NewPORT UA in Odesa, writes Minprom.
According to him, the Japanese partners were interested in the possibility of assistance during a meeting of the security committee, which was attended by more than 93 participants.
“We sent relevant letters to our members of the Ukrport association, collected needs and sent them to Japan,” he says. “Now the process is already moving into a practical plane. Someone needs construction equipment for restoration. This applies, first of all, to those who suffered, such as Orlivka, Reni or Chornomosk. Currently, this order is being formed and may reach practical implementation. This assistance will be available in the summer.”
The conference brought together representatives of the port industry to discuss minimizing risks during maritime transportation, restoring port infrastructure, maintaining cargo flows, and cooperating with international partners.
As USM reported, an explosive device detonated the day before in the port of Odesa region.
