The country’s agricultural sector lost $11 billion due to Russian attacks, — Ministry of Economy

The Ukrainian agricultural sector has lost $11 billion as a result of Russian attacks that destroy granaries, equipment, and grain.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyi, reports Elevatorist.
He specified that of this amount, about $6.5 billion is losses from destroyed equipment, damage to infrastructure, in particular granaries, as well as stolen and destroyed agricultural products.
At the end of 2025, the Russians increased the number of attacks on the agricultural infrastructure of the Odesa region, which significantly intensified and continued in early 2026.
The Ministry of Economy, together with other state bodies and the Kyiv School of Economics, maintains a register of war damage, recording each case of damage.
In the first months of 2026, the ports of Great Odesa suffered more than 180 attacks – this is almost equal to the number of strikes for the entire previous year.
“During peak periods, this reduced export opportunities by 20-30%, although in general the ports are able to withstand the load,” Vysotsky noted.
The infrastructure of international companies operating in Ukraine has also been affected by Russian attacks. This year, Bunge and ADM facilities have been damaged. Vysotsky said that damage assessment and restoration work are underway at both facilities.
The Deputy Minister of Economy stressed that the real losses to the Ukrainian agricultural sector significantly exceed $11 billion in direct losses, as they also include lost income and the human potential of the industry.
USM previously reported that the port asset in Chornomorsk, owned by a company from Solsky’s orbit, has been seized.
