Despite the promise: Egypt could accept a Russian ship with grain from occupied Feodosia

The sanctioned bulk carrier NOVAYA ZEMLYA, which exported about 20 thousand tons of wheat from occupied Feodosia, changed its route and appeared near Alexandria instead of the previously declared Famagusta.

This was reported by Kateryna Yaresko, a journalist for the SeaKrime project of the Myrotvorets Center.

The vessel NOVAYA ZEMLYA (IMO 9549281), which regularly appears in schemes for exporting grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, arrived at the coast of Egypt with a cargo of almost 20 thousand tons of wheat loaded in the port of occupied Feodosia. Previously, the vessel indicated Famagusta (Northern Cyprus) as the port of destination.

According to the GUR War&Sanctions project, the vessel was repeatedly used to transport grain from the occupied ports of Crimea and was included in the sanctions lists for participating in the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.

As a reminder, on April 3, during a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stated that the country would no longer accept grain that Russia exports from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
