Sybiha discussed attacks on the sea corridor and food security issues with the UN WFP

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha met with WFP Acting Executive Director Karl Skau on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The Foreign Minister noted that Russia is purposefully attacking Ukraine’s maritime corridor, Ukrainian ports and agricultural infrastructure, trying to prevent grain exports.

“However, food security should in no case become a hostage to Russian aggression or a tool of blackmail. The consequences of Russian strikes will be felt far beyond the Black Sea region, since Ukraine supplies a significant part of grain and sunflower oil to world markets. These exports are vital for millions of people, including in Africa and other regions,” Andriy Sybiga emphasized.

The Foreign Minister also stressed that restoring freedom of navigation in the Black Sea, protecting Ukrainian ports, and holding Russia accountable are urgent global priorities.
