The vessel was towed from the anchorage in Akhyrkapy by the tug of Bosphorus Traffic Control SAR, Fleetmon reports.

Initially, the bulk carrier was supposed to arrive at the port of Chornomorsk in late August, for loading 55 thousand tons of grain from the Transbulk terminal. It is expected that the vessel will either arrive at the port after repairs, or it will be replaced by another one that will ship Ukrainian grain. The cargo will probably go to Turkey.

“The Consolidator, 190 meters long, which had an engine failure off the coast of Kinaliada (an island near Istanbul – USM) during a trip from Italy to Ukraine, was anchored in Akhyrkapi, accompanied by our pilot and our tugboat Kurtarma-7 under the leadership of the service ship traffic,” the General Directorate of Coastal Safety reports on Twitter.
