Investments at their own expense: the financial plan of the Berdyansk port for 2022

The Ministry of Infrastructure has published the financial plan of the State Stevedore of the Berdyansk port for 2022.

The financial plan of the State Enterprise “Berdyansk Commercial Sea Port” for 2022 provides for an income of UAH 149.5 million (USD 5.54 million), which is 15% less than the company’s planned income this year. These are the consequences of the decrease in rates for the services of the State Enterprise “BCSP” as a result of high competition with other ports.

There are 4 private port operators in the Berdyansk port, 3 of which specialize in handling grain cargo. High competition does not allow BCSP to attract a sufficient amount of cargo, increase rates for its services and plan the corresponding income.

In 2022, the volume of cargo transshipment in the Berdyansk port is planned at the level of 950 thousand tons, against 667.4 million tons of the forecast for 2021.

Also, the financial plan of BCSP for 2022 provides for UAH 9.3 million (USD 345.08 thousand) of investments at the expense of the company’s own funds. The repair of the port fleet vessels is not included in this amount, since the increase in the potential of the vessels’ usefulness is not expected.
