Izmail Port fulfilled the annual transshipment plan

SE “Izmail Commercial Sea Port” has fulfilled the annual cargo transshipment plan.
As of December 7th, the port handled 3.57 million tons of cargo.
Already in October, Izmail Commercial Sea Port fulfilled about 90% of the annual cargo handling plan, and handled 3.35 million tons of cargo, against 3.12 million tons in the same period a year earlier.
Most of the transshipment volume in January-October at the port was ore – 2.36 million tons (70%). This is 23% more than in January-October 2020. The cargo was sent to Austria, Romania and Serbia.
In second place in terms of the number of shipments – rolled ferrous metals: 304.6 thousand tons. This is twice as much as in the same period last year. The products were sent to the foreign markets of Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia.
In November, the indicators of transshipment of ore and rolled steel in Izmail changed, but the approximate percentage of these cargoes in the transshipment structure will remain the same. The exact data in terms of cargo will be known after the publication of the USPA’s annual indicators of transshipment in ports.
Earlier, USM reported that they plan to develop the infrastructure of sea terminals in the port of Izmail. So, within 10 years, a complex of facilities for handling and storing general, bulk and liquid cargo will be built on the 85 km section of the Danube River. The depth will be increased from 4.5 to 7 m. The terminal’s capacity is 200 thousand tons. The cost of the work is UAH 10 million (USD 366.3 thousand), the investor is Econovatika LLC.
Also, within 10 years, it is planned to place a complex for the processing of mineral fertilizers at the 8th berth and in the rear zone on the territory of the industrial and transshipment complex No. 1 of the State Enterprise IZM CSP. The depths at the site will be increased to 7 m. The complex’s capacity is 100 thousand tons. The cost of the work is UAH 10 million, the investor is Econovatika LLC.
In addition, a separate project is planned in the port, “more of an image”, as Istomin called it – the construction of a modern parking lot for small vessels. This is partly due to the fact that the city has recently won a grant for the purchase of several boats. A marina will be built within the Luka Kapikrayana embankment within 10 years.
