Ukraine exports the coal to Poland again


The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed the export of 100 thousand tons of coal to Poland.

At the government meeting, amendments were made to Resolution No. 1424 “On approval of lists of goods, the export and import of which are subject to licensing, and quotas for 2022,” said Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada. The decision will allow Ukraine to export 100,000 tons of coal to Poland.

Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that coal reserves in the warehouses of Ukrainian power plants amount to almost 2 million tons, which is 2.5 times more than in 2021.

In June 2022, Ukraine established zero export quotas for all types of coal, except for coking coal. As reported by USM, the export of Ukrainian coal was completely banned експорт українського вугілля заборонили  in September.

According to the State Customs Service, Ukraine’s export of coal for eight months of 2022 amounted to 523,863 thousand tons for $166,667 million.
