Russia lied about “Harpoons” in Odesa port, intelligence reports

After the attack on the port of Odesa, russia said that missiles allegedly hit a warship and a warehouse of anti-ship missiles.

However, there were no such targets at the site of the missile attack, reports Deutsche Welle with reference to the intelligence of Great Britain.

“There is no indication that such targets were present  in the area, where the missiles hit,” the intelligence report said. In addition, the agency believes that russia often chooses targets for destruction based on the outdated data.

Intelligence notes that russia perceives anti-ship missiles as a key threat that limits the effectiveness of its Black Sea Fleet: “This has significantly undermined the overall invasion plan, as russia cannot realistically attempt an amphibious landing to capture Odessa.”

The British predict, that russia will continue to prioritize attacks on Ukraine’s anti-ship capabilities.

We want to remind, that russia атакувала ракетами Одеський порт on July 23 — the day after the signing of the Istanbul Agreements on safe “grain corridors” from Ukrainian ports.
