The largest operator of the port of Constanta earned 8 million euros on Ukrainian cargo
Romanian port operator Comvex SA reported a huge increase in profits in the first half of 2022.
In January-June, Comvex SA earned 51.7 million lei (10.5 million euros). For the same period in 2021, the port terminal earned 11.9 million lei (2.4 million euros).
As reported by the company, such excess profits are related to the increase in cargo turnover caused by the russian invasion of Ukraine in February.
As USM previously reported, since the end of February to the end of July, more than 1.3 million tons of Ukrainian grain . were processed in the port of Constanta.
The Company Comvex SA was founded in 1991 and is the largest terminal for transshipment of bulk materials in the Black Sea region, occupying an area of 700,386 square meters in the south of the port of Constanta, Romania. It is the only terminal for transshipment of bulk cargoes in the Black Sea region, which is capable of servicing cape-size vessels with a displacement of up to 220,000 tons.
