The leakage of natural gas at “Nord Streams” has stopped
As of October 2, the gas leakage at both “Nord Streams” has completely stopped. This was reported by the Energy Agency of Denmark on Twitter.
“Currently, the pressure on the two pipelines of the “Nord Stream 1” has stabilized. This shows that the gas leak has finally stopped,” said Nord Stream AG. The day before, the leak was stopped at the “Nord Stream 2” gas pipeline.
Earlier, Denmark and Sweden told at the meeting of the UN Security Council that the leaks were caused by “at least two detonations” with “several hundred kilograms” of explosives.
Meanwhile, European countries are strengthening the protection of maritime infrastructure due to explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines. In particular, USM wrote that Norway is strengthening the protection of the offshore gas and oil platforms. Lithuania is also strengthening security measures at the LNG terminal, and Great Britain is planning to purchase vessels to protect the underwater infrastructure.
