The EU countries did not reach an agreement on the price ceiling for russian oil
Negotiations between the governments of the European Union countries on limiting prices for russian oil are ongoing.
For several days in a row, EU countries have not been able to agree on the level of prices for russian oil, writes Reuters.
The G7 proposal, announced on November 23, for a ceiling price of 65-70 dollars per barrel was considered by some countries as too high, and by others as too low.
The governments could not overcome their differences even on November 24. However, it is expected that new negotiations on Friday, November 25, may bring the states’ positions closer to a final decision.
As previously reported by USM, the price cap for russian oil was to be implemented on December 5 to coincide with the start of the EU embargo on imports of russian raw oil by sea.
