Ukraine achieved russia’s exclusion from PABSEC

On December 7, russia was expelled from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC).

“We, the deputies from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, who are now fighting on the most pro-russian international platform – the PABSEC assembly, have just eviscerated the creature from this organization,” said a member of the Ukrainian delegation, People’s Deputy Oleksandr Marikovskyi, on Facebook.

Chairman of the russian State Duma Committee on Civil Society Development and acting the head of the permanent delegation of the Federal Assembly of russian federation to PABSEC, Olga Timofeeva, announced the decision to suspend the payment of russian contributions to the organization, rosZMI reports.

It is also reported that the russian delegation headed by Timofeeva on Wednesday interrupted its participation in the General Assembly of PABSEC, which is being held in Belgrade, during the voting on the new mandates of the russian delegates.

The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization is a subregional association of 12 countries of the Black Sea region (Azerbaijan, Albania, Bulgaria, Armenia, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, as well as Russia). It was founded on June 4, 1992.

The organization was created for the purpose of close economic cooperation of the participating countries, free movement of capital, goods and services, as well as integration of the economies of these countries into the world economic system.
