The UN appointed a new coordinator of the “grain initiative”
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has appointed Abdullah Abdul Samad Dashti as the new coordinator of the Black Sea Initiative.
“UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today announced the appointment of Abdullah Abdul Samad Dashti of Kuwait as the UN Coordinator for the Black Sea Grain Initiative,” the organization said in a statement.
Amir Mahmud Abdullah from Sudan has been the coordinator of the initiative since August. The UN Secretary General thanked him for his work and “devotion to the implementation of the initiative.”
It will be recalled that since the launch of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, more than 15 million tons of food have been exported from Ukrainian ports.
