Export of Ukrainian corn may decrease by 15%


Analysts have estimated that the export of corn from Ukraine in the 2022/23 marketing year will amount to 23 million tons.

“If the grain corridor continues to function, the export of corn from Ukraine in 2022/23 is expected to be 23 million tons, which is 15% less than the previous season’s result (27 million tons),” APC-Inform analysts reported.

In December 2022, corn exports from Ukraine amounted to approximately 3.1 million tons, which is a record monthly figure since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russian federation and is 21% higher than the shipment in November (2.5 million tons).

At the same time, last year in December, Ukraine exported 38% less corn than in December 2021, when 4.9 million tons were shipped.

As previously reported by USM, USDA experts estimated that in 2022/23 the corn harvest in Ukraine will decrease by 4.5 million tons — to 27 million tons.
