Citrus from Egypt: the port of Reni received an exotic cargo for the first time

The port of Reni is mastering new cargo flows. Last week, the company received a shipment of citrus fruits from Egypt.

The refrigerated vessel Zeinab, equipped with enhanced ventilation and refrigerating units for the transportation of perishable goods, arrived at the port of Reni last week, USPA reported.

The ship transported 519.9 tons of fruit from Egypt:

• oranges — 150.3 tons;

• grenades – 169.4 tons;

• lemons – 31.05 tons;

• tangerines – 169 tons.

Unloading of the ship takes place according to the “ship-road transport” option, for further delivery of fruit to the final consumer.

Traditionally, citrus fruits were overloaded in the ports of Chornomorsk and Odesa in Ukraine.

The port of Chornomorsk was the leader in transshipment of this type of cargo. But, since these ports are currently only involved in the work within the framework of the “grain corridor”, cargo owners are looking for other ways to deliver citrus fruits to consumers.
