Privatization of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi port did not take place due to the lack of applications from participants
The first auction for the privatization of SE “Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Sea Trade Port” did not take place. Participants did not apply.
The next auction with a price reduction is scheduled for March 13. The starting price is UAH 93.7 million.
“Frankly, we ourselves are surprised, because in our experience there have never been so many interested in this port, both among Ukrainian and foreign companies.
Sometimes this happens: the market considers the price too high. Is it really so? We already had this: at the second auction, the price increases more than it was at the first,” said Oleksandr Slavskyi, head of the regional branch of the State Property Fund .
Slavsky noted that there are two reasons why the privatization of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi port did not take place.
“First of all, the port on the Danube is one of the few fully operational ports in the country at the moment. The facility in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi is currently operating as a “dry port”. Second, the total cost. Please add 20% VAT to the price you see in the auction. And in the case of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi port, add the repayment of debts, which amounted to about 100 million hryvnias at the end of the year,” said Slavskyi.
