Half of this year’s harvest will be exported – an opinion
In 2023, Ukraine plans to harvest 53 million tons of grain and oil crops, half of which will be exported.
“In Ukraine, in 2023, they plan to harvest 53 million tons of grain, leguminous and oil crops. Domestic consumption in the pre-war period amounted to approximately 25-27 million tons. This year, this figure will decrease, and we will be able to export half of the harvest,” said the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Oleksandr Haydu, Ukrinform reports.
He reminded that the situation with the export of Ukrainian crops remains difficult due to russia’s blocking of the “grain agreement”.
“We will export much less agricultural products in 2023. Despite the fact that the grain corridor is working, we feel the danger from russia, which actually blocks the Bosphorus and does not allow us to export our products,” Haydu said.
The People’s Deputy added that in 7 months Ukraine exported about 24 million tons of grain, but last marketing year this figure was twice as much.
