Turkey confirmed that the “grain agreement” was extended for 120 days
Turkey and the UN have a unanimous position regarding the extension of the Istanbul Agreements for exactly 120 days.
“We believe that the agreement has been extended for 120 days, as stipulated in the document that was signed on July 22 last year,” said Vasyl Bodnar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Turkey, at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
He noted that there are speculations on the part of the russian side regarding the terms of the extension of the agreement: “There are speculations on the part of the russian side that it seems to want to reconsider, wants to extend it for only 60 days. These are, of course, attempts by the aggressor country to manipulate both public opinion and mediators.”
At the same time, the diplomat noted that the UN and Turkey have a unanimous position on the continuation of the “grain agreement”. Ukraine signed the Grain Agreement only with Turkey and the UN. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of russia states that they have agreed to extend the Black Sea Grain Initiative for 60 and not 120 days.
