A new berth for transshipment of grain will be built on the Danube
In the Izmail district of the Odesa region, a wharf will be built for transshipment and storage of grain, general and bulk cargo.
A new berth for grain, bulk and general cargo will be built near the village of Stara Nekrasivka. This was reported by Yug-Today with reference to the decision of the Safyaniv village council.
“Today, a relevant state program is distributed to all Danube ports, within the framework of which they work as grain carriers. Therefore, the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine grants permission for the placement of new berths along the Danube,” explained the Land Resources Department of the Safyaniv community.
Almost 2.4 hectares of land were allocated for the pier. It is reported that the area under the mooring is located on the territory of the Izmail pulp and paperboard plant (83 km of the Kili estuary of the Danube).
The average depth in the section of the river is 4 m. Near the future berth, at 84 km of the Kiliysky mouth, there is a water intake and backwater of the Izmailsky MTP (85 km of the Kiliysky mouth). The “Izmail” energy carrier storage and transshipment complex is also located nearby.
