A court in Germany did not allow the seizure of a damaged tanker belonging to the Russian “shadow fleet”

A court in Germany has not yet given its consent to the seizure of the emergency tanker Eventin from Russia’s “shadow fleet”.

This is reported by Spiegel

The Federal Fiscal Court (BFH) did not allow the seizure of the vessel and its cargo due to “reasonable doubts” about the legal grounds for this.

It has also not been determined whether this tanker can enter the territory of the EU in the event of an emergency.

The tanker Eventin has been near the German island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea for almost a year. It was towed there after the vessel became uncontrollable.

USM previously reported that Germany is appealing the arrest of the tanker from the “shadow fleet” with oil worth 40 million euros.

As we will recall, in January Germany banned the tanker “Eventin” from the so-called shadow fleet of the Russian Federation from leaving German waters.

In February, Germany confiscated the tanker and planned to dispose of the vessel soon.
