Soviet and Russian submarine designer Igor Spassky died in St. Petersburg.

Russian submarine designer Igor Spassky died. This was reported by the authorities of St. Petersburg. Spassky was 98 years old.

According to the plans of Igor Spassky, more than 200 nuclear and diesel-electric submarines have been built since 1950.

From 1974 to 2007, he headed the “Rubin” marine engineering design bureau. Now this enterprise is under the sanctions of Ukraine, the EU, the USA and Canada.
