A kitten was rescued on a ship heading to the port of Izmail
A ship on which the sailors found a kitten is heading to the port of Izmail. The sailors appeal to the Ismailis to take the animal away.
One of the sailors wrote to у the volunteer community of Izmail about the unusual passenger, “Yug.Today”news agency reports.
The vessel was loaded with scrap metal for Turkey in the port of Haifa (Israel). Eight days later, when the transition was over, the holds were opened in Turkey and the mumbling was heard.
“They began to take the cargo carefully in another place, and so among hundreds of tons of scrap metal they discovered a tiny kitten. The boy cried a lot and was in a state of shock, but he is physically intact, only his ear is slightly damaged,” the sailor said.
The sailors fed and bathed the kitten, which they named Shekel.
“There’s no place for a kitten on a ship, especially because Shekel doesn’t tolerate sea waves very well. And while walking on the deck, you can fall overboard,” says sailor Vadym Melnyk.
The sailor appeals to the people of Izmail to take the kitten, but “Yug.Today” notes that there are already people in Izmail who want to take the rescued cat home.
“But, most likely, he will still be taken by Ishmael zoo volunteers, because first it is necessary to find out whether the kitten has any health problems, and then he should find a responsible family. The kid suffered so much that he deserves to continue a happy and full life in a loving family,” the publication noted.
