A leak of oil products to Dnipro River was recorded due to shelling of the Dnipro HPP
The shelling by Russian troops of the Dnipro HPP in Zaporizhzhia on the night of March 22 caused oil products to leak into the Dnipro.
“As a result of the impact on the Dnipro HPP, soil contamination was recorded, oil products leaked into the water body of the Dnipro River, and specialists of the Inspection took water samples for the purpose of laboratory research,” the press service of the State Environmental Inspection reported.
Specialists of the State Environmental Inspection of the Southern District promptly inspected the affected areas in order to determine the damage caused to the environment. The inspectors took soil samples for laboratory tests and corresponding calculations.
It will be recalled that on the morning of March 22, Russian troops launched missile strikes on numerous objects in Ukraine, including the energy sector.
